Forwarding an Update and Prayer Requests from the Brothers in Israel

Monday, March 3, 2026

Dear brothers and sisters,

Greetings to you from Jerusalem, Israel. Due to the recent war situation with Iran and the attacks launched from there against Israel, I feel burdened to share with you a little about our current situation.

Over the past few days, in East Jerusalem (the area where we live), the sirens have sounded about six or seven times, day and night. We would go down to the underground shelter of our building. Once the danger passes (we receive a notification on our phones telling us we can leave the shelter), we return to our apartment.

There are three types of notifications we receive on our phones:

  1. The first is an early warning notification, indicating that in a few minutes, sirens might sound in our area due to detected missile launches, reminding us to stay close to a shelter.

  2. The second type of notification means that incoming missiles have been detected heading toward our area, and we must go to the shelter immediately and stay there until we receive a notification that we can leave.

  3. The third type of notification indicates that the incident is over and we can leave the shelter.

When the siren sounds in our area, it means there is activity in the airspace, and there is a risk of falling missile debris (when intercepted) or a possible missile strike if not intercepted. Although the interception rate is very high, it is not one hundred percent effective. We decided to go to the shelter upon receiving the first type of notification so that we could move more calmly, even though the aerial activity might not ultimately happen in our area.

As far as we know, one missile hit Tel Aviv (which is probably one of the most frequently attacked cities in this situation), and another hit a city called Beit Shemesh. Last night, two missiles landed in Jerusalem, one of which fell within about 1.5 kilometers of us. We heard the sound as we were going downstairs to the shelter; it landed on a road, making a huge explosion.

Our children are handling this situation much more calmly than we imagined. Past similar situations have, to some extent, made them “used” to such things happening while living in Israel. Our older son, Lucas, is more nervous and worried, but our calmness also helps him stay peaceful. He just covers his ears when he hears the sirens. We are all safe, and we have not heard of any saints being affected, thank the Lord.

On the first day the attacks began, I had a special experience. When I received the notification, I remembered a word Brother Ron Kangas shared during the pandemic: “I will not be governed by fear.” I had a burden in my heart at that time, and when praying before the Lord, I made the same prayer and declaration. I believe the Lord is keeping our hearts with His peace, and as we exercise our spirit, we are kept from the attacks of anxiety and fear that the enemy might bring. This is an inward warfare accompanying the outward war. We carefully follow the government’s instructions and wait for this conflict to end.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray that the Lord would accomplish His will in this situation, bringing the world into the condition needed for His move, so that many people would be saved and the church would be built up.

  • Pray that the Lord would preserve His people and keep them from all danger and harm.

  • Pray that the Lord would strengthen the inner man of the saints so that they can experience the Lord’s inward move and His organic salvation in any situation.

Your brother,
Wilter and Olga

P.S. Please feel free to share this letter with anyone you think would benefit from it and intercede for the Lord’s interests.

Olga
