The Passing of Our Dear Brother Bill Barker
Dear brothers — with sadness of heart, I would like to share with you that brother Bill Barker passed away in the early hours of this morning. He had not been feeling well the last few days and was losing the function of his legs. He passed away peacefully in his own home with his wife, sister Carol, at his side.
We knew brother Bill had been struggling with health issues for a few years, but we didn’t think that the time of his departure was this close. He was 87.
Bill was still of a clear mind with a heart for all the saints and a concern for the future of the church. He participated in church meetings mostly by Zoom in his last days. He joined a group
meeting this past Friday night and yesterday shepherded a brother over lunch as was his custom.
Bill was truly a fighter for the Lord’s interests. He had a long history of following the Lord with full appreciation for this ministry, for the church as the Body of Christ, and for the local practical expressions. It was by his stand and shepherding that many saints were helped to remain steadfast to the Lord and His recovery. He will be greatly missed.
Bill loved the coworkers and would tell me frequently over the last few years to greet the brothers. We will update the brothers later of any memorial. We have lost another pillar in
the Lord’s recovery. May the Lord be with his family and the many saints who have been cared for by him.
