A Forerunner and A Pattern among the Propagators of the Divine Revelation in the Present Age
Brother Nee, Brother Lee, Brother “We”
During the past few days, my thoughts have been full of recollections of scene after scene from my fifty years of partnership and learning with Brother Andrew Yu. I clearly remember the time, after Brother Witness Lee was taken to be with the Lord, that Andrew fellowshipped with these words with us; “The seer of the divine revelation is Brother Watchman Nee, the inheritor of the divine revelation is Brother Witness Lee, and there is also the need for propagators of the divine revelation—Brother ‘We’.” Surely Brother Yu was included in this “Brother We”, and moreover, he was a forerunner and a pattern among us as a propagator of the divine revelation in the present age. In the early 1980s, due to the constraining love of Christ and the vision of the ministry of the age which he had, Bother Yu gave up his job with a strong resolution and wrote a letter to Brother Lee, handing himself over to be a servant of God’s Word as revealed in Luke 1:2. Since that time, he has been yoked with the ministry of this age.
CWWN and CWWL
During the years of his full-time service, Brother Yu has borne the burden of collecting and completing the record of messages released by Watchman Nee. For years, Brother Yu conducted an exhaustive search for previously unrecorded transcripts of Brother Nee’s speaking. The result of this work was a 62-volume compilation in Chinese – The Collected Works of Watchman Nee (CWWN). In addition, Brother Yu set his heart to translate these Chinese texts into English at a rate of 20 pages per day, an endeavor which took more than ten years. The English version of the Collected Works of Watchman Nee was completed in the summer of 1995. In the twenty years since that time, Brother Yu’s burden for the full release of the ministry of the age has continued, supported by the diligent work and coordination of Living Stream Ministry, the Taiwan Gospel Book Room and dozens of specialized serving ones throughout the world. The result of this labor has been a monumental landmark in the history of the church — the English version of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, a total of 138 volumes (78,332 pages), which was completed in March 2019. Concurrently, work has continued on the Chinese version of CWWL, which will be published before long.
The Unsearchable Spiritual Riches of the Divine Revelation Being Made Concrete
Thank the Lord! Regarding the relationship between God and His Word, chapter 34 of the Life-study of John tells us that, “By the written word without, we have the explanation, definition, and expression of the mysterious Lord.” Likewise, these perfected compilations provide the means for the divine revelation of this age to be explained, defined, and uttered. In this way, the unsearchable spiritual riches of the divine revelation have been made concrete and have become readable, studyable, enjoyable, experiential, and constitutional, providing the means for the Body of Christ to build itself up in love.
Brother Yu worked as a close associate with Brother Lee beginning in 1984, and many burdens of the work, during the time Brother Lee was alive and since his departure, have been carried out and promoted by him. Hence, through our brother, the churches throughout the whole earth have been given proper guidance and have been blessed with much grace.
Spreading the Divine Truths That Have Been Translated, Explained and Interpreted
In 1995, Brother Lee began to speak concerning the high peaks of the Lord’s recovery today. He spoke concerning the recovery of the higher truths, and the need for the rapid spreading of the Lord’s recovery. He told us that for the Lord’s restoration and revival today, there is the need to spread the divine truths that have been translated, explained and interpreted. Since that time, co-workers have been involved in setting up and strengthening publishers of the high peak truths in Berlin, Germany, the countries of Eastern Europe, India, and the South of the Philippines. Also, thanks to the active participation of many saints, the Recovery Version of the Holy Bible has been wholly or partially translated into more than twenty-six different languages. In such a way, the message of the ministry of the age has been translated and spread in massive quantities, just as described in Habakkuk 2:14, “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Jehovah as water covers the sea.”
The Sweet-Smelling Savor Filling the Body of Christ in Perpetuality until the Coming of the Lord
Brother Yu’s whole life has been poured out like a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of our faith. May the sweet-smelling savor of it, like the ointment of pure nard that Mary poured upon the feet of Jesus, fill the Body of Christ perpetually until the coming of our dear Lord.
