【Situation in Ghana Updates】

Ghana has 68 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 3 fatalities. Since March 24, cases have been increasing, practically exponentially, major hot spot being the Accra Metropolitan Area. Due to the nation’s lax sanitation and health care infrastructure, on March 17th, while there were only 6 cases, the president announced nation-wide closing of classes, and suspending all public gatherings for four weeks and banned all those from countries and regions with over 200 reported cases, from entering Ghana.

Due to the government’s announcement and preparations, the church in Accra started to practice online meetings since March 22 on Lord’s Day, including the prayer meeting and the small group meetings during the week. The Gospel Bookroom in Ghana has to temporarily pause their original distribution of book subscriptions. All the saints of Ghana prayed urgently for the epidemic, and for the Lord’s authority and struggle on earth, especially for the coming spring ITERO training. May the Lord have mercy on Ghana and all other countries of Africa, that the epidemic cases would not explode exponentially.

The health care infrastructure is very weak, the citizen’s sense of prevention likewise, now it’s all but impossible to buy disease prevention items. So far, the brothers have been looking for face masks, but it’s already all but impossible to find and buy now.
