(19) Spain – 2017 FTTA Gospel Trips Report and Prayer Burdens

Mallorca, Spain (1/22/17)
We are in Mallorca, Spain, an island to the east of the Iberian Peninsula with a population of approximately 800,000. There is currently no church here, but there are some contacts from the radio program. We arrived the afternoon of Saturday, January 21 from London after a brief orientation and joined some full-time serving saints from peninsular Spain.

Because the saints here are scattered all across the island it is difficult sometimes to gather all together. They are all also quite new, most having been contacted less than a few years ago, although they are very fresh! Saints have been coming here periodically to shepherd them and to hold mini-conferences. Our goal here in this time is to give them a taste of the normal church life and to implant in them a desire to meet more often. To this end, we hope we would be patterns to take the enjoyment of Christ as our center and give them a sweet taste of the wonderful church life. We have been meeting on the eastern end of the island with contacts in Alcudia and Pollença both yesterday evening and all day today. They are all very open and eager to enjoy the Lord together with us. We hope the Lord will eventually be able to establish His testimony here strongly in Mallorca!
We will be here until Tuesday, January 24. Tomorrow (Monday) we plan to go to western Mallorca as well and spend time with contacts there. We will also be having a gospel time in the afternoon.

We hope you will labor with us in prayer (1 Thes. 5:25). Here are two prayer burdens for now:
•To implant in the saints in Mallorca a strong desire to meet together regularly by our taking the enjoyment of Christ as our center
•Our time with the saints in western Mallorca tomorrow

Spain
Dear saints,
Thank you for standing with us in prayer! Today, we went to Palma Mallorca, the capital of de Mallorca, into which we flew on the first day. We spent some time in coordination at our hotel in Port Pollença before we ate another traditional Spanish breakfast at a local cafe. We drove in to Palma, and with two of the local brothers and two local couples from Madrid, handed out 233 gospel tracts on the mystery of human life in the center of Palma. Afterwards, we went sightseeing around the Catedral de Mallorca and walked around the grounds of a castle called Bellver. The attached photo was taken at Bellver at breakfast We have all really been enjoying meeting and being with the saints on a daily (even semi-daily) basis. There are Colombian, Romanian, Uruguayan, and Mallorcan saints who have been gained through the radio broadcasts in Spain. It has been so sweet to blend with all of the families here; one student even forewent trade school to show us around Palma today. We are enjoying the daily church life and just joining in the daily living with the saints here in the towns across Mallorca.

Please pray:
- that the local brothers would get built together as companions to take the lead in getting the saints to meet together for a lampstand in Mallorca
- that the white horse would run in Mallorca and that the word sown today would fall on the good earth
- that the saints would function and meet more regularly and that all would prophesy in the meetings
