2016 GCC Conference Report 二〇一六年海湾国家地区特会报道

A River in the Wilderness

“There is a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she will not be moved… Jehovah of hosts is with us” (Psalms 46:4-5, 7). Throughout the Lord’s recovery, the Triune God in Christ as the Spirit is the river that flows to supply the city, His people, with Himself. Such strong flowing has reached even the dry and thirsty part of the earth — the wilderness. In the region of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Lord has thrusted out His people to bring peace and light among the Arab states. His work has been prevailing, because His going is our going; His move is our move; God is with us.

On the 2nd and 3rd of December 2016, an International Blending Conference was held in Dubai. Brothers who are serving in the Philippines, Mexico, and Lebanon were invited to minister the timely messages about Returning to the Orthodoxy of the Church. The conference was attended by a total number of 266 saints, out of which 230 were local saints from United Arab Emirates (UAE), and 36 were visiting saints from Bahrain (2), KSA (3), Qatar (3), Sri Lanka (2), USA (2), Singapore (6), and Philippines (18). The following week, an additional local church in UAE was established in the city of Al Mirfa. The social reception of UAE for tourists to enter in their country has paved a way for the Lord to flow in and supply all His cities in GCC. UAE is the Lord’s gateway to GCC.

On the 16th and 17th of December 2016, a local Conference was held in Doha, Qatar. The serving brothers from the Philippines have flown from Dubai to Doha to echo the ministry’s up-to-date speaking about Returning to the Orthodoxy of the Church. The conference was attended by 40 local saints from Doha, and 3 visiting brothers from Philippines (2) and Dubai (1). To keep the principle and the reality of the church in Philadelphia, the saints have seen the need to turn, return and repent before the Lord. The Spirit has been intensified sevenfold; His eyes are searching and judging, and He is speaking to the churches. Even in the midst of our situation in the wilderness, the Lord is calling out His overcomers to overcome all kinds of degradation.

Churches from other GCC countries hold their local conferences every quarter. By the Lord’s preserving grace, the saints in GCC carried on with their church life, practiced the meeting life continually, and kept a constant fellowship among other saints across the region. God is in the midst of the local churches situated in the wilderness. His lampstands are being established in increasing number of cities for a testimony to the nations. The Lord has declared, “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted on earth” (Psalm 46:10).

Here are some more highlights regarding the work in GCC region:
1. This time, we have seen the raising up of the church in Mirfa. This city is about 3 hours east of Abu Dhabi and has been under the care of the churches in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi for the last one year. This is now the 6th local church in United Arab Emirates and the 20th in the GCC region.

2. In the recent years, job situation in the Middle East has been unstable because of political instability in the region and the abrupt cycle in oil prices. Many saints have lost their job and have either relocated or returned to their home country. While we continue to pray for the well-being of the saints working abroad, the other side of the story is that this situation allowed mobility and traffic of the saints across the cities for the spreading of the gospel.

3. In fellowship with the serving brothers:
3.1 Two to three brothers will cross the border of Al Khobar, KSA to support the shepherding of the church in Bahrain.
3.2 Another two brothers from Dubai,UAE will travel to support the churches in Oman and Kuwait.
3.3 Across GCC, 2-3 churches are expected to be raised up this year.

4. In a quick survey we did among the saints employed in the GCC region, the list of those who have attended some Training ( FTT, Nazarite, MAT, PTO..) and are active in the church life turned out to be more than a hundred! How is this possible, the God of Impossibilities did it..
To date, we have about a dozen more saints from GCC countries who take time out of their annual leave to join the Middle Age Training in Baguio City and Cebu City.

5. We have contacted a Christian brother from Bhutan who now works in Dubai. His parents back in Bhutan were among the pioneering Christians in this closed Buddhist country. We’ll pursue to see if this avenue will open the way for the ministry books to come in and perhaps establish an open contact with this family.

Please continue to pray and cooperate for the Lord’s move in the GCC region of the Middle East.
