Sanctifying the Lord’s Day—A Day of “Come, Go, and Come”
The meaning of “Sanctifying the Lord’s Day” is particularly significant for the
saints of The Church in Taipei Hall One. The saints consecrate this very day to the
Lord, enjoying the Lord’s supply, and go out to flow the living water to people, thus
experiencing a joyful, enriching, and meaningful Lord’s Day.
In the morning from 8:00 to 9:00 is the combined morning revival session with
around 70 saints attending. The nine districts of Hall One practice prophesying
weekly on a rotational basis. Firstly, one brother gives a bird’s-eye view of the
morning revival message of that week. Secondly, six saints fellowship on the
messages from Day 1 to Day 6 respectively, followed by another brother’s conclusion
words. Finally, the saints from all other districts have the opportunity to share freely.
Everyone is well prepared and exercised in the meeting; therefore, the meeting is full
of abundant supply. From 9:00 to 9:50 is the combined Lord’s Table Meeting with
around 280 saints attending. Subsequent sessions are messages giving by two brothers
from 9:50 to 10:25, a 20 minute perfecting meeting for new believers and a 15 minute
bird’s-eye view of morning revival message review. The following from 10:30 to
11:25 are separate prophesying meeting in each district. An average of 15-20 saints
actively participate in prophesying in each district meeting to share the riches of
Christ to others.
After the district prophesying meeting the saints gathered at the main assembly
hall to stir up the spirit of the gospel by singing hymns and reading the Word for ten
minutes. The saints are then grouped by three and go out to their assigned area to
preach the gospel. These areas include the streets, intersections, markets, bus stops,
supermarkets, and parks, etc., where there are crowds. The saints hand out gospel
tracks, preached the Mystery of Human Life, lead people to call on the Lord’s name,
take down their contact information, and even bring people back to the meeting hall
for lunch. There are about 100-140 saints (almost half the number attending the
Lord’s Table Meeting) who go out to preach the gospel while a few who are unable to
do so stay at the hall to pray together. Praise the Lord! The saints all go forth with
rejoicing and came back joyfully.
In the evening there is a gospel meeting from 7:00-8:00. The first week is the
combined gospel meeting while the other weeks are gospel meetings held by two
districts serving in coordination. Every time quite a number of gospel friends attend
the meetings, and gradually some were baptized. Here everyone experiences the joy
of “Those who sow in tears/Will reap with a ringing shout.” (Psalm 126:5)
Praise the Lord! In the Lord’s Day the saints have meetings, go out, and reap,
experiencing the joy and satisfaction of “laboring without suffering” and being “tiring
yet joyful”. The saints practice the living of “Come, Go, and Come”, that is, “come”
to the Lord to enjoy the supply, “Go” to the people to dispense Christ, and cause
people to “come” to the house of God. By such a practice we hope that the God-
ordained way, the structure of the gospel, can be built up and bring forth the blessing
of the propagation and the expansion of the church.
