Current Labor
It was a great blessing from the Lord for His increase to have a second gospel trip in the Grand Rapids area, but with the sowing is the labor to reap which is carried out by the follow-up visitation with the contacts made during the gospel trip. There were approximately 300 contacts from the two week sowing, and among this number 30 who have responded in a more open and seeking way have initially become the focus of follow-up . In order to maintain contact with these new ones, as well as the remaining ones from last year’s gospel trip, a rotation of two to three saints from nearby localities have been joining the local saints in Grand Rapids weekly. To date saints coming from the nearby localities of Ann Arbor, Chicago, East Lansing, Farmington, Indianapolis, and Kalamazoo have coordinated in fellowship to come for two to three days each week to nourish and cherish all of these contacts.
There has been wonderful one-on-one fellowship with these contacts covering the topics from the Basic Elements of the Christian Life. The one-on-one visitation has resulted in the opportunity to bring some of these new ones to the weekly home meetings for a richer enjoyment with the local Grand Rapids saints. Being together to enjoy the Lord is joy unspeakable and full of glory to the Lord!
We realize that the prayers of the churches and the weekly blending of the two or three saints from the nearby localities has been the strength to sustain the follow up visitation, and we will continue with a weekly rotation, as the Lord allows,to help firmly establish some of these new contacts.
How we thank the Lord for the prayers and blending. Monthly BfA workshops/seminars, followed by a monthly Lord’s Day meeting have also been scheduled to maintain contact with new ones and nourish these ones with the word of the truth.
Participation
We ask that the churches participate in the Lord’s move in Grand Rapids in the following way:
Pray:
That there would be regular weekly appointments with the key contacts, and that there would be the desire to come to the weekly home meetings.
Through the weekly appointments and home meetings, the homes of the new contacts would be open for visitation and establishment of home meetings.
Migration of saints to live or study in the city of Grand Rapids, particularly those with experience in the church life, and college students.
To bind Satan’swork to instigate frustration, and that the Lord would place a wall of fire around the new contacts and the saints in Grand Rapids.
For a lampstand to be raised up in Grand Rapids.
