The Solomon Islands

　台湾在南太平洋岛国有六个邦交国，包括索罗门群岛、马绍尔群岛、诺鲁、吉里巴斯、吐瓦鲁以及帛琉。高雄医学大学附设医院承包了台湾卫生福利部对所罗门岛国的人道医疗援助，因此乐业弟兄在今年九月被派驻所罗门中央医院一个月，进行医疗与教学工作，我也得有机会随行前往。

Taiwan has diplomatic relations with six nations in the South Pacific, including the Solomon Islands, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Kiribati, Tuvalu, and Palau. The Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital undertook a medical and humanitarian aid project for the Solomon Islands on behalf of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare. Therefore, Brother Leyè was dispatched to the Solomon Islands National Referral Hospital for one month in September to carry out medical and teaching work, and I had the opportunity to accompany him.

行前得知在所罗门岛上亦有主恢复的召会，使我们格外兴奋，期待着与当地的弟兄姊妹们有相调。

Before the trip, learning that there was also a church in the Lord’s recovery on the Solomon Islands made us particularly excited, and we looked forward to blending with the local brothers and sisters.

　所罗门岛上惟一的召会是在首都霍尼亚拉（Honiara），一对年轻的夫妇在此服事，他们是隆斯岱尔（Lonsdale）弟兄和乔伊斯（Joyce）姊妹。隆斯岱尔弟兄在斐济的南太平洋大学读书时被主得着，后来和妻子到纽西兰汉密尔顿全时间训练中心受训，毕业后回所罗门岛放下职业全时间服事主。2015年3月成立了霍尼亚拉召会，迄今两年余，聚会人数成人约30位，孩童约15位。主日有申言聚会（尚未有擘饼聚会）、儿童聚会，周二有祷告聚会，周间有小排聚会，周五晚上有青年聚会，周一上午有姊妹事奉交通，主要是为着儿童服事。除了隆斯岱尔夫妇外，还有一对华人叶弟兄夫妇在此经营事业，他们爱主爱圣徒，一同配搭服事。

The only church on the Solomon Islands is in the capital, Honiara, where a young couple, Brother Lonsdale and Sister Joyce, serve. Brother Lonsdale was gained by the Lord while studying at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. He and his wife later went to the full-time training center in Hamilton, New Zealand. After graduating, they returned to the Solomon Islands, laid down their careers, and began to serve the Lord full-time. The church in Honiara was established in March 2015 and has been in existence for over two years, with about 30 adults and 15 children attending the meetings. On the Lord’s Day, there is a prophesying meeting (they do not yet have the Lord’s table meeting) and a children’s meeting. There is a prayer meeting on Tuesdays, small group meetings during the week, a young people’s meeting on Friday nights, and a sisters’ service fellowship on Monday mornings, mainly for the children’s service. In addition to Lonsdale and Joyce, there is a Chinese couple, Brother and Sister Ye, who run a business there. They love the Lord and the saints and coordinate in service together.

　我们在岛上尽可能地和弟兄姊妹相调，参加每一个聚集，特别受感于祷告聚会。有一天祷告聚会轮到萨尔温（Selwyn）弟兄家，他家里是没有电的，所以我们就在门前遮棚的阳台上，席地而坐祷告。八位圣徒加上一位包着尿裤踉跄学步的小儿，从本地的需要开始祷告，一直到邻近的国家及校园工作。从霍尼亚拉到斐济到布里斯本，甚至于祷告到主在欧洲的行动，特别是德国。并且为以色列和中国祷告，也为10月在莱比锡的全球长老同工训练祷告。在远远的南太平洋中一个小小的岛国，在一方铺上新席的阳台，没有光害的星光下，我们在祷告中摸着圣殿的法则—高而圣别，我们摸着神的同在！

While on the island, we did our best to blend with the brothers and sisters, attending every gathering, and were particularly touched by the prayer meeting. One day, the prayer meeting was at Brother Selwyn’s home. His house has no electricity, so we sat on the floor of the sheltered porch in front of his door to pray. Eight saints, plus a toddler in diapers who was just learning to walk, began praying from the local needs and continued on to the neighboring countries and the campus work. From Honiara to Fiji to Brisbane, and even praying for the Lord’s move in Europe, especially Germany. We also prayed for Israel and China, and for the global training for elders and co-workers in Leipzig in October. On a small island nation in the distant South Pacific, on a porch with a newly laid mat under the starlight, free from light pollution, we touched the principle of the temple in our prayer—high and holy. We touched the presence of God!

　另外，一个在磐石穴中、陡岩的隐密处的小排聚会也深深地打动我们，在夜光中我们摸索着爬上蓓芙琳（Beverlyn）姊妹的家。蓓芙琳有一个女儿，她的妹妹有两个女儿，她们还帮弟弟照顾一个儿子，因为弟弟去纽西兰参加全时间训练。弟媳在马绍尔群岛打工，蓓芙琳的母亲及另一位弟弟也与他们同住，所以在这个陡岩的隐密处，小小的温暖的屋里共住了一家八口。自己砍柴自己提水、储水，厨房地上的灰烬尚有余温，她为大家准备了rice-noodle当晚餐，就是白饭盖上汤泡面。他们有的似乎并不多却乐意与弟兄姊妹分享，我们感受到神家中的温暖与美味。我们唱诗、祷告，并在微弱的灯光下享受真理的话，孩子们陆续在许多大人的包围中安稳地睡着了。会后才吃晚餐，没吃晚餐的孩子，睡着了也就让他们睡了。我们要回去了，望着要爬下去的陡岩，真不知道每个主日蓓芙琳一个人是如何牵着、抱着、拖着四个孩子爬下去的。

Furthermore, a small group meeting “in a cleft of the rock, in a secret place of the steep ascent” deeply moved us. In the dim light of the evening, we groped our way up to Sister Beverlyn’s home. Beverlyn has a daughter, and her sister has two daughters. They also help care for their younger brother’s son because he went to New Zealand to attend the full-time training. His wife works in the Marshall Islands. Beverlyn’s mother and another younger brother also live with them, so in this secret place on the steep cliff, a family of eight lives together in a small, warm house. They chop their own firewood and fetch and store their own water. The ashes on the kitchen floor were still warm. She prepared “rice-noodle” for everyone for dinner, which was white rice topped with instant noodles in broth. They seemed to have very little, yet they were happy to share with the brothers and sisters. We felt the warmth and deliciousness of God’s house. We sang hymns, prayed, and enjoyed the word of truth in the dim light. The children, surrounded by many adults, gradually and peacefully fell asleep. We had dinner after the meeting; the children who hadn’t eaten and had fallen asleep were left to sleep. As we were leaving, looking down at the steep cliff we had to descend, I truly wondered how Beverlyn, by herself, manages to lead, carry, and drag four children down that path every Lord’s Day.

　由于在霍尼亚拉召会中不只隆斯岱尔弟兄，还有许多青职姊妹，包括蓓芙琳，都见证自己是在南太平洋大学读书时被主得着的。那里的校园工作真是在传万邦的福音，邻近各岛国的学子来到这里读书，受服事被主得着，回到自己的国家就成了福音的种子。看见这荣耀的校园工作，使我们兴起了去斐济的渴慕，于是在九月底中央医院的工作告一段落之后，我们就转往斐济的苏瓦召会。（待续）李邓湘兰

In the church in Honiara, it wasn’t just Brother Lonsdale; many young working sisters, including Beverlyn, testified that they were gained by the Lord while studying at the University of the South Pacific. The campus work there is truly for the preaching of the gospel to all the nations. Students from neighboring island countries come here to study, are served and gained by the Lord, and then return to their own countries to become gospel seeds. Seeing this glorious campus work stirred up in us a desire to go to Fiji. So, at the end of September, after the work at the hospital was concluded, we traveled to the church in Suva, Fiji. 为着南太平洋岛国主的恢复，我们有如下的祷告负担，交通给弟兄姊妹一同代求：

For the Lord’s recovery in the South Pacific island nations, we have the following prayer burdens to fellowship with the brothers and sisters for their intercession:

（一）请为霍尼亚拉召会能设立主的桌子，有擘饼聚会祷告。
（二）请为苏瓦召会在南太平洋大学的校园工作祷告，得着更多合乎神使用的器皿，为着在南太平洋各岛国主的恢复。
（三）请为斐济近日开展楠迪（Nadi）与瑙索里（Naosori）两地，建立楠迪召会与瑙索里召会祷告。（这是在苏瓦的弟兄们一再叮嘱托付我们的祷告负担）
（四）请为着在南太平洋岛国恢复本圣经及职事书报的推广祷告，借以得着更多清心寻求神的人。

(1) Please pray that the church in Honiara can establish the Lord’s table and have the Lord’s table meeting.
(2) Please pray for the campus work of the church in Suva at the University of the South Pacific, that more vessels useful to God would be gained for the Lord’s recovery in the various island nations of the South Pacific.
(3) Please pray for the recent spreading in Fiji to the two localities of Nadi and Nausori, and for the establishment of the church in Nadi and the church in Naosori. (This is a prayer burden the brothers in Suva repeatedly entrusted to us.)
(4) Please pray for the distribution of the Recovery Version Bible and ministry publications in the South Pacific island nations, so that more of those who seek God with a pure heart may be gained.
