Among all the world’s languages, Standard Arabic is the fifth most-widely spoken—if you count both native and non-native speakers—after English, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Spanish (source: Ethnologue.com). As of 2021 there are approximately 274 million Arabic speakers across the globe, and therefore, this is a very important language for the translation of the ministry. We know that the Lord will succeed in redeeming some out of every tongue and causing some out of every tongue to stand before the throne and before Him fully approved at the end of this age (Rev. 5:9; 7:9). All of us in the Lord’s recovery were blessed when Brother Witness Lee began the work on the Recovery Version to accompany his life-study of the Bible, beginning with the book of Romans in December 1974.
