Where does wisdom come from?
Wisdom does not come from man
Job 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? / And where is the place of understanding?
Wisdom given to a man, Solomon
1 Kings 3:12 – “I now do according to your words. I now give you a heart of wisdom and
understanding, so that there has been no one like you before you, nor will one rise up
after you like you.”
The Wisdom of God given to man, Jesus Christ
Luke 11:31 – “[A queen] came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and behold, something more than Solomon is here.”
Matt. 11:19 – “The Son of Man came eating and drinking; and they say, Behold, a
gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. Yet wisdom is
justified by her works.”
1 Cor. 1:24 – “But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of
God and the wisdom of God.”
