CENTRAL AFRICA
comprises nine countries. Lampstands have been raised up in three of them, namely Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), and the island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe. There are also saints pursuing the ministry in Burundi and the Central African Republic. CAMEROON No. of localities: 4 Cameroon is situated at the crossroads between West and Central Africa, with an area of 475 442 sq.km, and a population of 26 million people. The pandemic has subsided in the country and life has almost returned to normal, except for the requirement to wear face masks in some areas. The church life is also going on in all the localities. There are four cities with lampstands, plus there are gatherings in three other places. Due to distance, some saints in the church in Yaoundé, the capital, are now meeting separately, and they join the rest of the saints once a month for blending. The Lord also brought another nine seeking ones into fellowship with the saints in Bafoussam through the distribution of the ministry. They are currently enjoying the material. We thank the Lord for His rich supply through the ministry and we look to the Lord for guidance regarding the further distribution of the ministry to His seeking ones. The saints have also been participating actively in regional and international conferences, including the Thanksgiving Conference last November, and the Africa Conference in December 2020. From 15 January to 7 February, we entered into the training on the Crystallization-Study of Job, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, together with the saints in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire – what a wonderful opportunity for blending! Every weekend we enjoyed three messages. 41 saints from Cameroon registered and joined the training. |

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO (DRC)
No. of localities: 12 No. of saints in church life: 690 No. of saints attending the Table meeting: 590 The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is the second largest country in Africa after Algeria, with an area of 2.345 million sq.km (about a quarter of the size of the United States). It has a population of close to 90 million people, the fourth most populous country in Africa (after Nigeria, Ethiopia and Egypt) and is the most populous French-speaking country in the world. The country is unstable and, after two civil wars, it has seen several militias since 2016. In addition, diseases and serious epidemics ravage the country. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, there were restrictions to prohibit meetings of more than 20 people. However, such restrictions have been relaxed. The church life is going on well in the province of North Kivu (Oicha, Goma and Kashenda). We have the Lord’s Table meeting every Lord’s Day in all the localities as it was before pandemic. In Goma and Oicha we gather daily, enjoying the Holy Word for Morning Revival and Life Studies. We have received some ministry books from overseas but unfortunately they were in English. Please pray for more provision of ministry books in French.

SÃO TOMÉ AND PRÍNCIPE
No. of localities: 1 No. of saints in church life: 45 No. of saints attending the Table meeting: 40 São Tomé and Príncipe is a small island nation covering an area of about 1 000 sq.km. Portuguese is the official language. It is the second-smallest country in Africa after Seychelles with a population of about 220 000. Its resources are limited and its economy is fragile. With the pandemic the economy has become even more precarious. The number of saints who continue to gather has reduced, but they continue to praise the Lord in all things, and thank Him for His calling. We pray for an increase of the Lord’s move in this country and in this region. |

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC (CAR) The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country of 620 000 sq.km, with a population of 5 million people. The country has been plagued by civil war. The meeting of the Church in Bangui, the capital city, was stopped due to the political unrest in the country. There used to be more saints gathering, but they were scattered and have lost contact with each other. Praise the Lord that after over 4 years, six saints from three families have been able to be reconnected in the country and with the Body. We pray that the Lord will shepherd these saints and open a way to supply the ministry resources to them. We also pray that the Lord will gather the rest of the scattered saints and recover the church life for a testimony in this country.
