The Two Great Questions in the Book of Job

God’s economy

Job 10:13 – But You have hidden these things in Your heart; / I know that this is with You

Eph. 3:9 – And to enlighten all that they may see what the economy of the mystery is, which throughout the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things,

Question 1: What was God’s purpose in creating man?

Job 10:8-9 – Your hands have shaped me and made me altogether, / Yet You destroy me. Remember now that You have made me like clay; / And will You return me to the dust?

Gen. 1:26 – And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…

Question 2: Why do God’s people suffer?

Mark 10:18 – And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One — God.

Job 42:5-6 – I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, / But now my eye has seen You; therefore I abhor myself, and I repent / In dust and ashes.

Phil. 3:8 – …I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as refuse that I may gain Christ

Gaining Christ

Psalm 62:8 – Trust in Him at all times, O people; / Pour out your heart before Him; / God is a refuge to us

Mark 2:3 – And they came, bringing to Him a paralytic carried by four men.
