The Gospel of the Kingdom

  1. The goal of the gospel is the kingdom of God

Luke 4:43 He said to them, I must announce the gospel of the kingdom of God to the other

cities also, because for this I was sent.

  1. The gospel of the kingdom fulfills God’s purpose

Matt. 24:14 This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole inhabited earth for a

testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

  1. The gospel of the kingdom is the gospel of Christ as the King and Christ as the kingdom

Luke 17:20-21 When He was questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, Behold, here it is! or, There! For behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.

  1. Only Christ the King can live the kingdom life

John 5:19 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, The Son can do nothing from Himself except what He sees the Father doing, for whatever that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner.

John 8:28 Jesus therefore said to them, When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am, and that I do nothing from Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.

  1. The requirements of the kingdom being met by God’s life

Rev. 22:1 And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the

throne of God and of the Lamb in the middle of its street.

Rev. 11:15 The seventh angel trumpeted; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.
