The Spirit is not limited by our being physically separated.
As the outbreak of the coronavirus quickly developed in the Bay Area last week, in caring for the saints in the small group in this unsettling situation, our small group conducted both our Friday night meeting and Lord’s Day meeting using Zoom. On Friday night, as we were still scrambling to reorient ourselves to respond to all the outward changes, we were very much encouraged by the timely supply as we saw each other’s faces in our video meeting. Some of the saints had to stay home, while some left town to be with their families. But the fellowship in the Body brought forth resurrection life and supplied each one of us.
Praise the Lord! Out of the limited Jesus there is the unlimited Christ for us. From the two video meetings we had, we were encouraged that while we are temporarily limited by the outward environment, we are still able to cherish and nourish each other with Christ. Our greetings with each other were interspersed in our singing, praying, and getting into the ministry. Even over this format, we could sense the intimacy and the flow of the Spirit in our gathering.
