【Technologies for Having Online Meetings – The church in Anaheim】

There are many technologies available to help maintain the meeting life without physically gathering together. To take advantage of these capabilities, please designate one person in your group to be responsible to determine the best platform and to host the meeting. In determining the best platform, take into consideration that some saints may join by video using a computer, smartphone, or tablet and some may join by using a phone to dial in. Here are some suggested platforms:

Paid or Free Conferencing Calling
Platform: www.Zoom.us
Zoom offers video and audio conferencing. We recommend that the designated host sign up for a “Pro” account and pay $14.99/month for as long as the account is needed. Only one account is needed per group. The “Basic” (Free) account is limited to 40 minutes/call.
Zoom offers the option of using a computer, tablet, or phone. This is the most robust option as it provides for the entire range of different ways people may participate.

• Video and Audio Conferencing by computer, smartphone, or tablet
Users can join the conference by clicking on a link to a conference-unique webpage (provided by the host); from there they’ll be taken directly into the conference. A camera will be needed if you want to use video with audio. An app also is available for computer, smartphone, or tablet.

• Joining the conference by phone with audio or video
To join by phone, call into your unique conference phone number and then enter the conference ID (provided by the host). If your phone has a camera, you can use video as well as audio.

Free Conferencing Calling
Platform: www.FreeConferenceCall.com
FreeConferenceCall.com offers both audio and video conferencing for computer, tablet, and phone. Only 5 people can be on video at one time.
• How it works: Users can use an app on their computer, smartphone, or tablet and can also dial the conference number using a phone. Users will be prompted to enter the PIN, after which they will immediately be joined to the conference call.
• Cost: Free

Other Platforms (All Free)
Google Hangouts: Video calls only as long as each user has an email address.
Facetime: Video calls if everyone has an Apple device.
Skype: Video and audio calling is free; calling out by phone is available, but for a fee ($2.95/month subscription allows host to add users by phone in US and Canada.)
LINE: Video conference calls are free if the application is downloaded to each device.
