Psalm 48:2 “Beautiful in elevation, / The joy of the whole earth, / Is Mount Zion, the sides of the north, / The city of the great King.”
Hebrews 12:22 “But you have come forward to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem; and to myriads of angels, to the universal gathering.”
Mount Zion (הַר צִיּוֹן) is a hill in Jerusalem, located just outside the walls of the Old City. The term Mount Zion has been used in the Bible first for the City of David and later for the Temple Mount, but its meaning has shifted and it is now used as the name of ancient Jerusalem’s Western Hill. In a wider sense, the term is also used for the entire Land of Israel.
In the spiritual sense, Zion within Jerusalem typifies the body of overcomers, the perfected and matured God-men, within the church as the heavenly Jerusalem. The overcomers as Zion are the reality of the Body of Christ and consummate the building up of the Body in the churches to bring in the consummated holy city, New Jerusalem, the Holy of Holies as God’s dwelling place, in eternity. In the new heaven and new earth the entire New Jerusalem will become Zion, with all the believers as overcomers.
詩篇48:1-2 『耶和華為大，在我們神的城中，在祂的聖山上，該大受讚美。在北面的錫安山，是大君王的城，居高華美，為全地所喜悅。』
希伯來書12:22 『但你們乃是來到錫安山，來到活神的城，屬天的耶路撒冷，來到千萬天使整體的聚集。』
錫安，大衛王的城，是耶路撒冷城的中心。錫安本是一個保障或是碉堡的名字，被大衛佔領之後 ，就稱為大衛的城、錫安的保障、錫安山、錫安城等名字。日後逐漸的，特別是在詩歌和豫言中，成為耶路撒冷城、聖殿山、甚至以色列國的代表。但今日耶路撒冷城的人所稱的錫安山，指的是聖殿區西南角的南方，錫安門外的地區為錫安山。
就屬靈的意義說，耶路撒冷內的錫安，豫表作屬天耶路撒冷的召會裏的團體得勝者，就是得成全並成熟的神人。得勝者作為錫安，乃是基督身體的實際，並且終極完成眾地方召會中身體的建造，帶進永世裏終極完成的聖城新耶路撒冷，就是作神居所的至聖所。在新天新地裏，整個新耶路撒冷將成為錫安，所有的信徒都是得勝者。
