【大卫塔—耶路撒冷美地展览馆】【Tower of David – Kokia House Visitors Center, Jerusalem】

“Your neck is like the tower of David, / Built for an armory: / A thousand bucklers hang on it, / All the shields of the mighty men.” (Song of Songs 4:4)

The Tower of David, one of the most visible landmarks in Jerusalem, is located on the west side of the Old City. As part of the Herodian Palace, it was used to strengthen the defenses of the fortress. The Tower has been destroyed and rebuilt several times over the past millenia. Hence, the current tower was not built by King David. After the recovery of Jerusalem to Israel in 1967, the tower was changed into a museum. Recently, in 2017, the Tower of David Museum has launched a virtual reality tour in order to vividly present Jerusalem in its Second Temple period to the many tourists that come to the site.

Spiritually speaking, the lover of the Lord is beautiful in her having a will that is submissive to the Lord (neck like the tower of David) and that is rich in the defending power (bucklers and shields of the mighty men).
