伯大尼(Bethany)希腊原文为“无花果之家”，意为困苦之家，在橄榄山东坡，离耶路撒冷约有三公里。马利亚、马大和拉撒路的家，以及西门的家都在那里。耶稣在耶路撒冷被犹太教的首领弃绝；但在伯大尼，却受爱祂的人欢迎。
伯大尼现今是一个小村，四郊长满了橄榄、杏仁和无花果树。村中有两座都是名叫拉撒路的纪念堂。耶稣曾在伯大尼使拉撒路复活，并且医治了患麻风的西门，西门感激之余，在家中为耶稣和祂的门徒摆设筵席。爱主至深的马利亚，就是在此筵席中，将至贵的真哪哒香膏，浇在主耶稣头上。伯大尼这筵宴之家，乃为召会早期的小影。
“And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. And while He blessed them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.” (Luke 24:50-51)
Bethany (Greek: Βηθανία) is recorded in the New Testament as the home of the siblings Mary, Martha, and Lazarus, as well as that of Simon the Leper. Jesus is reported to have lodged there after his entry into Jerusalem, and it was from Bethany that he parted from his disciples at the Ascension.
Bethany has traditionally been identified with the present-day West Bank city of al-Eizariya (Arabic “place of Lazarus”), site of the reputed Tomb of Lazarus, about 1.5 miles to the east of Jerusalem on the south-eastern slope of the Mount of Olives. In Bethany, Jesus healed Simon the Leper and raised Lazarus from the dead.
