六月8-9日以色列庆祝五旬节 （Shavuot, Pentecost）。 五旬节是从初熟节（利23:10-11,15-17）开始算起的第50天（第七个安息日的次日），所以称之为五旬节。 对以色列人来说，这一天摩西在西奈山领受耶和华所赐予的十诫，同时这个节日也用来感谢耶和华所赐的收获，所以又称收割节（七七节），是犹太人的三大节期之一。
对新约信徒来说，使徒行传第二章记载在五旬节那天，也是主耶稣复活后的第五十天，圣灵浇灌、门徒领受了全备的灵，召会成立，也在那复活升天包罗万有的基督里，有分于祂全备的丰富，这乃是收割节的应验。
On 8-9 of June, 2019, people in Israel celebrate Shavuot. Shavuot (Pentecost) is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the giving of the Torah to the Jews. The Talmud tells us that God gave the Ten Commandments to the Jews on the sixth night of the Hebrew month of Sivan. Shavuot always falls 50 days after the second night of Passover.
For New Testament believers, Pentecost, which is celebrated fifty days after the Lord’s resurrection, commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the book of Acts.
