Brief Report on the 2017 Fall ITERO
Location: Leipzig, Germany
General Subject: The Recovery of the Church
Dates: October 5-7, 2017
We are in the Lord’s recovery to finish what Martin Luther started. This year the fall ITERO was held in Leipzig, Germany. More than 1,900 brothers from all corners of the earth gathered together in one accord to hear the Lord’s up-to-date speaking. It is interesting to note that 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. It was in 1517 that Martin Luther posted his 95 theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church, sparking the Protestant Reformation. God’s goal in using our brother Martin Luther was not only to spark the Protestant Reformation but more importantly to recover the church back to His original intention.
God’s intention is to recover the church as the corporate expression of Christ, who is the embodiment and expression of the Triune God. This is the intrinsic understanding of what the church is and the vision that should govern us. Regardless how many successive stages of degradation that the church passed throughout history, we have to be governed by seeing God’s eternal purpose concerning the church (Ephesians 1:9,11). One way to see so to pray the prayer Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:14-19. In addition to seeing, we all must enter into the commission to enlighten all what the economy of the mystery is (3:9).
The ITERO was to be followed by subsequent blending trips and conferences in eight regions across Europe. In addition to this, brothers and sisters from various parts of the world were going to participate in Bible distributions throughout key cities all over Germany.
In the book, The Testimony and Ground of the Church, Brother Lee speaks about the importance of Luther’s Reformation . “n the Reformation the first thing Luther did was to open the Bible to the public. He released the Bible completely so that everyone had a Bible in their hands to read. This is the most worthy thing of the Reformation, and it is also the most beneficial thing to later generations. Some have said that justification by faith was the first thing recovered in Luther’s Reformation, but justification by faith is not the center of the Reformation. The most important item of the Reformation was the recovery of the open Bible.” (The Testimony and Ground of the Church, Chapter 3)
Thank the Lord for this time of blending, and fellowship that occurred among the saints and the churches in the Lord’s recovery. May the burden that was released during this ITERO penetrate all the saints in the Lord’s recovery so the that Lord can gain what is on His heart here on earth. May the Lord strengthen all the saints laboring to spread the truth and the riches of the Recovery Version Bible throughout the continent of Europe.
Lord, shine your light on the ones whom you chose before the foundation of the world, so that they may see what the economy of the mystery is. Bring them into Your heart’s desire and eternal purpose so that they may be willing to corporate with You to build up Your church and return for Your glorious Bride!
