We had meetings five meetings and the response was very good. The saints felt the messages were timely and many confirmed the word with their experiences of reading the ministry publications. The testimonies were so good that we asked the leading brothers to send us short video clips of their testimonies. One of the brothers there will assist us in this task to gather the video clips.
The meetings were as follows:
Friday night: General burden followed by a workshop in small groups on how to get into the Rcv version Bible with footnotes, cross references, and corresponding life study. About 150-160 attended. Attendance was about 50 more saints than anticipated.
Saturday AM 930 to 12 meeting with San Diego county leading ones (About 12 brothers) at the newly purchased Chula Vista meeting hall ( I estimated 18,000 SF on nearly 3 Acres of land).
We read the Sept 30 letter and some of the excerpts and fellowshipped the burden as we read. We encouraged each of the churches to consider book displays for their halls and home for lending and selling. We followed the meeting with a lunch in the dining room.
Saturday Afternoon 430 to 600 PM– About 45 gathered to fellowship about the burden of the book service and then how to set up and maintain a healthy and active book service. We ended with dinner. The brothers expected about 25 to attend, but 40 confirmed their attendance and some others came too.
Saturday Evening 700 to 830 PM-General burden about the faithful and diligent spreading of the truth. There were about 150 present in the meeting.
Lord’s Day 10 -1210 PM-All-SD County Meeting
Sharing on: general burden for publications and building up habit of being daily in the Bible and ministry books. Steve tied burden to the present truth in message one of the Special Conference. Samuel gave testimonies about the effect of publications work in Vietnam, Rochester, MN,and other places. We also had a testimony time to allow saints to respond to the burden. Very good testimonies confirmed the word. The saints were happy and encouraged by the word. Attend was close to 300, followed by a love feast.
