Chikuang was taken away by the Lord, To me, it’s just like my own flesh brother passed away; my feelings are too overwhelming to articulate properly, it’s very mixed and complicated.
He is younger than me by ten years, The one who should go first is me, yet how is it him?! Oh Lord! Oh Lord!
We’ve both grown up in the church life in Taiwan. Back when my wife Peace(Yen-Chin) was still in Hall Thirteen of the Church in Taipei, she served Chikuang as his children teacher.
Later, when Chikuang went to high school, I just so happened to serve high schoolers in Taipei, and started to have some connection with him.
After he graduated from university, and served his term in voluntary military conscript( three and half years), he had the heart for full-time service, then he coordinated with brother Ping Zhang, brother Yongguang Lin in Taipei High School, Service Team. I also happened to be coordinating with and serving them.
Thus our fellowship increased. and I treasure my brother, for his demonstrating of his spirit, his humility and gentleness in caring for people, with upright and clean character.
Truly like cedarwood for God’s building.
About seven years ago when I went to Bangkok to fellowship with local brothers, I knew that the full-time training center in Bangkok started to accept new applicants from Mainland, and appreciated brother Chikuang had the burden to come there to serve. Through my coordinations in prayers, Thank the Lord, He accomplished His good pleasure.
In the past few years, hundreds upon hundreds of young people got perfected, and built up to become pillars in the Lords’ Recovery.
Not only that, many lampstands raised up on various localities in Thailand, and many young people were gained on the college campuses.
These explicitly present to us an unchanging law in God’s divine economy—- “Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”(John 12:24)
Unbelievably, once the news of his passing away was shared on the Church News website and Facebook, within two days, it gains close to sixty thousand times of visits.
Truly don’t know where they came from. Yet we can estimate how much impact of our brother Chikuang’s life-long service had.
Our brother can be liked to our Forefather David , having served his own generation(Acts 13:36), and slept. The time of Chikuang’s service was not too long, yet its value remains eternal.
In that day, as the corruptible.we will be clothed with the incorruptible and will also be with Chikuang, in our Lord’s presence forever. (1 Thes. 4:17-18)
Chikuang, How about we sing stanza 6 of hymn 960 again?
“A thousand hands won’t hinder me, Nor will ten thousand eyes; The thorns upon the road but help Me onward to the prize.
Arise, my spirit and my heart, And let the world go by; The Lord of life will take me soon ,To be with Him on high.”
