Report from the serving brothers in Ecuador regarding the recent earthquake
To all the churches in the Lord´s recovery
Due to the earthquake that our country has suffered and because of the concern of the Body of Christ. We want to give a brief report on the cities where there are churches that have been somewhat affected, so that we may continue persevering in prayer and the tender shepherding of our pneumatic Pastor may comfort and strengthen, through the Body, the churches in this country. The cities where we have churches are:
Jipijapa
In the city of Jipijapa meet about 25 to 30 saints. In this city the saints are well physically, there have been no human losses and material damage has not been serious. The saints in this city make a living by fishing, therefore most of them have no work, because this area is still in danger alert.
Portoviejo
In this city there are around 40 saints meeting. This city is one of the most affected by the earthquake, here a sister of two brothers (Willinton Saltos and Gary Saltos) that meet with the church, died when a wall fell over her; one of the brothers is a responsible brother there. The saints have no great material losses, but do not have work, food scarce and the one being sold is at very high prices; energy is returning to the city little by little, water is scarce, and government aid does not reach the brothers or arrives scarce. Due to the decomposition of the bodies that are still under the debris, epidemics they are emerging and medication is needed.
Manta
There about 35 brothers meeting. This city is also one of the most affected cities after Pedernales. Most saints are well physically. A family of husband, wife and granddaughter died when a building collapsed on top of them; after 48 hours the saints were able to rescue their bodies and finally on Monday could bury them. As well as the city of Portoviejo the saints have no work, food is scarce and food prices are very high. In addition to the odor issuing from the bodies under the debris, now it is more likely the risk of disease. Water is scarce. The saints cannot cook due to lack of gas.
Esmeraldas
Thanks to the Lord, the brothers there are ok, some of their homes have suffered some damage which is not serious. The uncle of one of the responsible brothers (Mario Santos), died of a heart attack because of panic, the cousin of this same brother with all her family died in the city of Portoviejo (husband, wife, daughter 19 years old and his other daughter of 7 months).
We are confident that through this situation the white horse is conquering; pray for us to take this opportunity so that the church may shine proclaiming Christ as the gospel. We are also collecting many of the things that the saints need to take care of them practically. On Tuesday a vehicle with food went to visit the saints in Portoviejo; we are now preparing to go with a truck with aid for the saints in Jipijapa, Portoviejo and Manta on Saturday. Continue persevering in prayer for one another so that He accomplishes what He has desired.
