A Report on the First Follow-up Gospel Trip to Germany
A fresh group of more than 50 saints arrived in Germany on Lord’s Day, 14 February, to continue the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom and the shepherding of the existing contacts for their growth in life. The saints were split into four teams and sent out to the four cities—Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Stuttgart. There are many mouths to feed, but our trust is in the Lord, who fed 5,000 with five loaves and two fish until all were satisfied. Please pray that we will continue to reach the ones whom the Lord has prepared and that those who have received the Lord will grow in the divine life in a normal way. There is a sense on these gospel trips that “the harvest is great, but the workers few” (Matt. 9:37). The Lord has gone before us and prepared these people for Himself. Now there is a great need to labor and reap the harvest for Him. There are many testimonies, but the following are two encouraging testimonies from this group of saints: One camp we went to consisted of all women and children. We met with one Kurdish woman who has a difficult family situation. She was not very open to the gospel, but she let us pray for her. After we prayed, she was very touched (as was the interpreter) that we had prayed for her, and she even shed a tear. She said, “No one loved me or cared about me like you.” She is interested in coming to dinner. She has two children and no husband. Later, in the car the interpreter said that she was very touched because “You don’t know her, yet you cried for her.” Two Farsi speakers who were saved through the gospel trip were baptized in the home of a local brother. One of them said, “I have been thinking about this for 6 years.” The other one said, “I love Jesus.” The new ones did not want to go home, even though we finished around 10:00 p.m. When we talked about getting together the next day, they were disappointed when we said that we would gather at 4:00 p.m., as they wanted to get together sooner.
Please pray:
• That the Lord of the harvest will thrust out more workers into the harvest in German
• For the continuing contact and shepherding care of the refugees that will bring them to salvation and into the church life
• That the Lord will raise up more translators for this work
