We are updating the present situation of disastrous rainfall in Chennai and Tamilnadu,India
The city of Chennai in the entire month of November 2015 experienced heavy lashes of rain. This week government declared disaster flood in Chennai. Rains which created havoc after lashing in Chennai on Lord’s day and Monday broke a 100-year-old record, reports a leading national daily. The total rainfall in Chennai was 119.73 cm till midnight on Monday breaking the 1918 record of 108.8 cm which had stood as the highest record.
The Lord has been faithful to preserve all the saints for His testimony. Few of the saint’s houses has been affected by flood. At least in 5 saints homes water entered and they have moved to live corporately with other saints. In most of the places there is no power supply. 60% of mobile towers have broken.
Among the saints we are not able to have communication. The basic needs in the city has been hit because the roads are flooded and the distribution network is affected. We feel there is a desperate need for prayers in the Body to continue to preserve the saint’s tripartite being. Further the metrological department have declared 48 hrs rainfall. This gives threat to the people in Chennai. Army, Navy and Airforce are using boats, helicopters and other means to rescue people. Airport has been closed until Dec 6th. Local buses are very few and trains have been halted. Similar situation can be seen in other parts of Tamilnadu state like Chengalpet, Pondichery, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Thanjavur, Tirunelveli, etc.
Among the saints we have a stronger feeling that the Lord is reminding us to live a life absolutely for His economy and prepare ourselves for His coming. Moreover we have received the burden to intensify the spreading of the gospel of the Kingdom to people in Chennai and Tamilnadu.India
Particular points for prayer:
1. For the sake of His testimony, the saints in Chennai needs to be preserved from flood and sickness.
2. The practical church life need to be recovered.
3. The spreading of the gospel of the Kingdom among people of Chennai and Tamilnadu.
4. The Lord need to head up the present situation of continual rainfall so that His interest will be accomplished in Chennai and Tamilnadu state.
