A Brief Report on the Ethiopian-Speaking Saints of the Church in Las Vegas 拉斯維加斯召會阿姆哈拉語聖徒簡報

Currently in the Church in Las Vegas, the Ethiopian speaking saints meet on Monday night to read the life-study messages on the book of Genesis. There are usually about 10-12 adults and about 18 children in this meeting. Because of the rich supply of life and revelation of truth that the saints receive from reading the ministry, a lot of them try not to miss this Monday night meeting, even though they have busy work schedules. One Ethiopian sister who is only able to make the Monday night meeting loves the ministry so much that she reads the life-study messages and other ministry books before the meeting, and overflows her enjoyment to those in her group.
On Lord’s day, at the table meeting there aren’t many Ethiopian speaking adults. A lot of them feel like language is a barrier. They either don’t know English very well or are afraid of speaking in the little English that they know. But despite this, some of them still send their children to the Lord’s day table meeting. In fact, about half of those in the children’s meeting belong to the Ethiopian speaking saints.
In addition, the Ethiopian speaking saints have a burden for the ministry to be translated into their language. They are more than willing to pay someone in their home country to translate the ministry from English into Amharic.
After some fellowship, the feeling is that the Ethiopian speaking saints can be brought into the church life more if there was consistent shepherding and more blending with the local saints. May the Lord continue to release the proper care for these saints so that they can be joined and fitly framed in the Body.
