New Training Center in Mexico City— Progress update

We have received a total of $3,402,926.61. We are lacking $97,073.39 to reach the target of $3,500,000. However, we have delayed the closing until the end of this month. Praise the Lord for His provision through the Body. We feel that the Lord is confirming our burden of having this new training center. As we have fellowshipped in St. Luis, we will need to obtain the title of this land and then do the study on whether to remodel or to rebuild. This is fast becoming a reality. Praise and thank the Lord.

There are three major North-south boulevards in that part of town. The first one, Insurgentes, is already loaded with tall buildings. The second one, Revolution, has been rezoned less than five years ago and there are more than ten new buildings just finished or in process within five blocks of my apartment. The third one is Universidad where our new training center is. The price of land is going higher and higher. Once it is rezoned, it will be prohibitive for us to get any land so close to the best and largest university in Mexico. That campus has 100,000 students. The tuition is merely 15 cents per semester. It is virtually free so that the best students could get ahead in their education. Keep praying for us to receive the final amount before the end of this month and pray for the construction brothers to see how we should us this property.

Here is another update as August 15 is approaching. The saints from Mexico have offered $163,000 and from outside of Mexico, $359,000. According to the balances, we need $1M more for the transfer of title on August 15.

A Brief Explanation of the New Training Center in Mexico City—2015
We need to have a new training center in Mexico City for three main reasons:
1. By the next semester we will be overcrowded in our existing training center. The current capacity
is less than 80.
2. The location of the present training center is far away from UNAM, the number one university in
Mexico with 100,000 students. The travel time is approximately 2 hours round trip. Because of
this, the trainees are frustrated in their practice of the campus work, resulting in many of the
graduates not having a desire to serve on the campus teams in Mexico.
3. The area around the present location is less secure than 15 years ago when the brothers picked the
location. Because of this, some parents are afraid to allow their children to attend the FTTMX.
We have made an agreement to purchase a facility that is three times larger than our present training
center. It is 2.2 km from UNAM and Copilco House (our Student Bible Center) in one of the safest
locations in Mexico City. The land size is approximately 8,000 square feet, and the existing three-story
building is approximately 25,000 square feet. The largest room can hold 800 for meetings, and a second
room can hold 400. This facility will accommodate a little over 200 trainees, which is approximately three
times as many as our present facility. The building is 40 years old. We have looked for more than a year
and found that this is the most appropriate location for us.
Including the closing costs and taxes, the price is $3.5M USD. So far we have received a little over $2M,
and a 50% down payment has been made. We will need another $1.5M by August 15, 2015, to obtain the
title.
With the safety of the trainees in view, after the transfer of title, we will study the building to see whether
we should fix it up or replace it. With a new building, we could have more the 70,000 square feet. This
will include dormitories in the upper floors and parking spaces in the basement.
We have some properties that could be sold for $900,000 after we move into the new facility. The saints
in Mexico have begun to offer for the new training center. According to our capacity, it is not easy to
obtain $1.5M by August 15; therefore, we need the prayer and support of the Body.
These verses in Isaiah 54 are appropriate: “Enlarge your tent site, / Let them stretch out the curtains of
your habitations; / Spare not; / Lengthen your cords, / And strengthen your pegs; For on the right and on
the left you will break open, / And your seed will possess the nations / And will cause the desolate cities
to be inhabited” (vv. 2-3).
Please pray for us. Those who desire to make an offering to support this move of the Lord can make their
check payable to the Church in Anaheim and send it to the church’s address at 2528 West La Palma Ave,
Anaheim, CA 92801. Wire transfer instructions are: Bank of the West, 619 S. Brookhurst St., Anaheim,

center in Mexico City.
We praise and thank the Lord that we can all be co-laborers with God for the future of His recovery and
for the building up of the Body of Christ.
