Introductory word
A word of fellowship from Bro. Lee “We are sure to receive the higher education. During the education we learn English especially it is an international language. We must learn English thoroughly. We need to be quite at home with two foreign language.
The more knowledge of literature one have the more learning of language the better. We ought to get the highest attainment in language” .
To reach this goal, Brothers who are serving in the Taiwan Gospel Work, whoare providing a good opportunity for Full-timers who are willing to go overseas for propagation.
This is three a weeks training, from 3-21, November , every Monday night through Friday noon.
The training location is the Chong-Yi meeting hall in Taipei.
The goal of this training : To be able to speak message for 30 minutes.
This training has a total of 17 trainees and three instructors, among them one couple came from Crescent, North California near the border of Oregon State ,USA. This couple came to Taiwan for the first time. The sister had joined the Middle Age Training .
Those who will join the training will undergo qualifying exam. They have to memorize 700 church life terms before November 3rd as the basic requirement.
II. Training Features and Exercise
A. In this stage some Apps can be utilized to benefit our learning
The English learning approach which now we introduced is to utilized various Apps and online resources for effective self-learning. This approach is to teach us how to fish rather than to give us fish.
Utilizing Varieties of Apps, like Google translate, Baidu translated and Youdao translate. We can look up word, translate sentences and correct American English pronunciation.
Our vocabulary can be tested out scientifically with ”word dynamo”.
“Baidu Translate” as the fine choice, supports translation offline, Youdao Dictionary and “Google Translate” are available. English- English interpretation with App “Dictionary”. We can acquire the most accurate usages of the word, and cultivate the English way of thinking. Through it we can learn the most authentic English. In the App “Dictionary”, input an English word, you can find it’s synonyms to enrich your glossary effectively, polish your writings properly and upgrade your article sophisticatedly.
“Baidu Translate” can be used to solve the problems of pronunciation, by listening to the correct pronunciation and reporting it again and again.
American Pronunciation offline package in Youdao Translate,Google translate online as well.
B. Change our Chinese English accent to American accent.
1. Most of the Chinese pronunciation problem
(1) Incorrect pronunciation
(2) Local accent
(3) British accent
(4) No vibration
(5) Biting tongue pronunciation
(6) Voiceless turbidity
The teacher correct the mispronounced word during the message delivery by recording the correct pronunciation through LINE to be reviewed by the speaker .afterwards. Or using App. And listen the correct pronunciation 5 times.
Record your corrected pronunciation and send to your teacher. If the teacher is not satisfied the teacher will correct your pronunciation personally.
During meal time we practice to converse in English with our teacher.
2 .The five difference between Chinese and English:
(1) Sentence pause tone
Chinese pronunciation of words is fixed, not because of its position in the sentence changes, when most of the English sentence pause tone up .

The first two days we read the Mystery of Human Life, then prepare a twenty five minutes message, which message will be spoken two times. The first time cannot be spoken for twenty five minutes after the assistance of our teachers who reminded us before the main burden is given a word of introduction is necessary. The other two days we get into the message one given in ITERO, Canada. Every message will be prepared by two brothers and message will be given alternately. During the message giving the teachers pay attention to our accent. This the is most difficult part and spent much time in adjusting.
III. In conclusion:
The training is strict and the schedule is tight, but it gave us much benefit, especially in the correction of our pronunciation and accent. Although I have been to India for more than three years and have given a lot of English messages but the greatest problem mostly encountered were pronunciation and
accent. Sometimes, when I gave a message some can’t understand. Before, I tried many ways to learn English but has not given me favorable result. For me,
I would have thought that learning English was hopeless and discouraging.
After this training that is add confidence and skills. I received much help from this training although the process of learning is hard but worth it.
Therefore, we can recommend the courage to try.
According to Bro. Lee : “We hope saints will go to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia even to India, Sri-Lanka and Pakistan and to Arabian countries. They are all in my heart. Don’t be narrow, we are taking the new way to carry out the Lord’s Recovery”.
