Meeting Hall Purchase – the Church in Düsseldorf, Germany
18 August 2014
A property has recently become available for purchase in Düsseldorf, Germany, which could serve as a
meeting hall for the church as well as a location for the blending of the saints in the region. The property
consists of the ground floor of a two-story building with a total footprint of 161m
(1732sq ft), containing one large room of 54m
(581sq ft) (which could potentially be enlarged by
removing a partition wall) plus
five other rooms, a kitchen, and two WCs. The building is structurally in fairly good condition; the interior
needs repainting, some new flooring, and possibly new lighting and ventilation (see pictures attached)
.
We feel very good about the purchase of this proper
ty and that the Lord has been leading us along the way.
The attendance in the Lord’s Day meeting now reache
s up to 40 and the church has outgrown its current
meeting facilities in rented rooms. The church life
began in Düsseldorf in 2008 with around 12 saints
through a migration. Since then the church has grow
n under the Lord’s blessing through both increase and migration.
The purchase cost of the property is 147,500€ ($197
,500; £118 000) which will be required at the latest by
15th  September 2014. Additional renovation costs increa
se the total need to about 170,000€ ($232,000;
£135,000). Of this total amount, around 100,000€ ($
133,000, £80,000) is still needed. We would like to
open this need to the churches for your fellowship
and participation.
