The Summer School of Truth (SSOT) was held for the first time in the meeting hall in Xindian district. There were a total of 543 young people mostly from Taiwan but with some young people from the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand and Shanghai. The topic for this SSOT was God’s full salvation and the messages were shared in English and Chinese. The English class had about 150 students with 80% of them being in high school and 20% junior highers who can manage English. One of the burdens in the English classes was to make the points concerning God’s full salvation experiential and practical for the young people. Also, it was important for those in the English classes to ask questions and share their enjoyment during their small group times because this was a gauge as to how much was getting into them in the classes. On each day of the SSOT the schedule was as follows; two messages were shared in the morning followed by group time, lunch, singing/guitar practice and then some outdoor activity in the afternoon. The singing time was really precious because all the young people whether or not they could handle English had to learn two new hymns in English; “Jesus Oh Living Word of God” & “Come Forward”. On the last day, the young people got into their small groups to prepare a short presentation of what they had enjoyed about the SSOT and also sing “Jesus Oh Living Word of God” to the saints. This presentation happened on Saturday evening and all the saints from Xindian and nearby districts were invited. I believe all those in attendance were nourished and encouraged by the young people. According the the brothers in Xindian, the number of young people in attendance in this years SSOT did not reflect the current number of young people who meet in New Taipei City. So they expect the numbers to increase significantly for the upcoming winter school of truth and also for next years SSOT.
