Bern and Lausanne, Switzerland (1/24)
Dear saints, thank you for all your prayers! This past week in Lausanne has gone by quickly, but we all feel very connected and joined to the saints here and their burden for the churchlife and the campus work. Today was our last day in Lausanne, arriving in Bern tonightwhere we will spend the last four days of our time in Switzerland.Every evening in Lausanne we have been blending with the different saints in theneighboring areas, enjoying the normal church life and spending time in the homes of thefamilies. This past week we have also had two Bible Distributions in Geneva and Neuchetal. In one hour in Geneva we passed out 25-30 French New Testaments; in Neuchetal we passedout 10-15 French New Testaments in under an hour and also had several positive contacts. This past week we have been visiting two of Lausanne’s campuses, EPFL and University ofLausanne and have been speaking to students. We are not allowed to hand out any tracts orBibles, so we have been spending the time getting to know the local students during thelunch hour and speaking about the Lord when possible. Although the response has notalways been receptive, we believe the Word was sown into many of the Swiss students. We invited many of our new contacts to the Thursday night dinner which we had last night –4 new ones, who did not even know they were going to a Christian home, attended andstayed for the dinner, prayer, singing, and even lingered afterwards for more fellowship andsinging! One of the contacts, student F, asked about why we were saying ‘amen’ so often;later, after dessert, he joined an impromptu singing time and began to say ‘amen’ when wedeclared the songs. He joined us the next day for lunch on campus, and we had a positivefarewell with him. Finally, we also had the opportunity to visit the school of one of the local saints who teachesEnglish to junior-high and high-school age Swiss students. Again, we were not allowed to speak about the Lord in an open way, but we enjoyed being with the students, exercising to be divinely human with them.
Prayer burden:
• Pray for the four new local students who attended the home meeting on
Thursday — that the Lord would keep them and they would enter in and remain in the Church Life in Lausanne.
Gospel Trip Report and Prayer Burdens 5 – Jan 25, 2014
