Lord’s Day the 29th of December, we had our third Fan into Flame time with the college students in Southern California and those from out of town who attended the Winter Training. In total we had 357 people attend this time, likely 300 were college students (although we haven’t broken down the details yet). It is safe to say that the number of students was pretty easily 300+. Around 70+ indicated they were from outside of California, and as expected, the vast majority had attended the training. The time began with some very exercised singing and brother Tym Seay shared from one of the outlines from the Campus Reunion Conference(s) titled “Catching Freshmen Alive” and his burden was on the students entering into the joy of fruit-bearing! Beginning with Abram’s change from “exalted father” to “father of a multitude”, the students were brought to see that just as Isaac received grace upon grace but could not fulfill God’s eternal purpose until he had his sons, they too must go beyond just receiving to flowing out into others to bear a son for God’s purpose to be carried out! This is the way into a rich, enjoyable church life. Throughout his sharing there were sprinkled in some live testimonies of students related to their experiences of fruit-bearing, along with some audio clips of Brother Lee related to being desperate to catch the freshmen, and especially those in the student orientations. The student testimonies were helpful to bring the fellowship on fruit-bearing down to something attainable to them on the college campuses and also practical related to contacting freshmen and even their friends.
